ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES

Dating back to Georgian times, the holiday cottages at Stickwick Manor are full of character and history, yet now provide comfortable, contemporary, flexible and superbly equipped accommodation for visiting families, set on a real working farm.

There are three properties in total, of varying size to suit all needs. The Cottage, which sleeps five (plus cot) in two bedrooms, is a cosy former stable with exposed beams and country style kitchen, and boasts incredible views over the surrounding countryside.  The Farmhouse, originally servants’ quarters, is a unique and large characterful property which now sleeps 7 plus two cots in three bedrooms.  Lastly, the biggest holiday home – the Manor – sleeps 12 (plus three cots) in 7 bedrooms and is a grand, impressive property with spacious reception rooms and a luxurious feel throughout.  Outside, all the cottages benefit from open plan and sunny south facing gardens with furniture.

For large family groups, the Farmhouse and Manor cottages interconnect to sleep a total of 19 people; or, of course, all three properties can be booked together to accommodate 24 guests.  The grand dining room in the Manor, with roaring open fire, can seat all 24 of you making the house the ideal setting for special celebrations as well.

In terms of prices, a family of four visiting Stickwick Manor during the peak summer school holiday season can expect to pay 1500/week, though out of season the property can be booked for as little as £715.  The larger properties cost £2035 (for three bedroom Farmhouse) and £4340 (for seven bedroom Manor) at peak times, but again can be found for much less outside of peak times.  Short breaks are also available.

CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

Stickwick is the perfect holiday venue for children who enjoy variety and the great outdoors.  A working farm, with livestock and sheep surrounding the cottages and free-range poultry roaming the grounds, means daily animal feeding sessions are on offer with Farmer Richard and Alison: collect the eggs from the chickens and ducks, groom Rockey Max and Duke the donkeys, let Daisy and Duke the goats take you for a walk, or enjoy a cuddle with bunnies.  It’s a fantastic confidence-building and ‘back to nature’ experience for children of all ages, and one which will make a holiday at Stickwick brilliantly memorable.

The large open plan gardens which the cottages share provide a great place for children to run around and let off steam, while nearby woodland walks allow more adventurous types to explore hidden valleys, streams and meadows. Why not join other guests for a forest school session run by a qualified leader where children can learn all about foraging, cooking over the campfire, creating natural crafts, building dens and exploring the countryside surroundings?

Children will love the cottages’ outdoor play lawn – perfect for cricket, volleyball, badminton and football – while the nearby play area with swings, slide, sandpit and basket swing are a popular haunt too.

Perfect for damper days, Stickwick Manor also boasts a rustic indoor games barn with entertainment for both younger tots (ride-on toys, play kitchen, dressing up clothes, puzzles) and older kids (pool table, table tennis, table football and darts).

PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

Stickwick is home to an on-site farm shop, the Larder Room, offering a wide range of tasty local and homemade produce which can pre-ordered or collected on demand – from locally-reared meat to eggs, cakes, pies and ice creams.  There are also high-quality ready meals and make your own pizza kits, helping making dinner times both easy for parents and fun for everyone!

Families will also love Stickwick’s rustic outdoor kitchen – the Toasting Shack – with its gas BBQ, pizza oven, fire pit, candles and fairy lights.  It’s the perfect cosy setting for alfresco dinners, watching the sun set and toasting marshmallows – a picture-perfect ending to any day.

There are open fires in Manor and Farmhouse (with fire guards to keep the little ones safe!), providing the ultimate in parent friendly cosy living spaces at the end of a long and cold wintry day.

Pets are welcome to stay at Stickwick Manor, with quiet lanes and fields to explore in the surrounding area.  The nearest local pub is just a 12 minute walk away, and is both dog and child friendly, offering tasty food and drink with stunning views.

All the baby and toddler equipment you might need during your holiday, including cots, highchairs, stair gates and bed guards, is available to borrow free of charge.  WiFi is available throughout.
