Sandybrook is located in the southern Peak District not far from the picturesque market town of Ashbourne. Family friendly attractions in the local area include off-road cycling and walking at the Tissington Trail, the magnificent Chatsworth House, and the Heights of Abraham with its unique cable car experience. Crich Tramway Museum, with its period village and working tramway, is well worth a visit too. Alton Towers, featuring CBeebies Land and Splash Landings, is just ten miles away.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are a range of luxury log cabins available at Sandybrook, offering variety of facilities and prices. The classic range offers best value for money, while the Vista Exclusive Spa and Willow Spa lodges are the highest end option with panoramic views and en-suite bedrooms. Lodges are available sleeping up to eight people in four bedrooms, and some have private hot tubs. All properties offer open-plan living spaces with comfortable sofas, dining areas, flat screen TVs and comfy beds.
For an idea of prices, at the time of writing, a four person classic lodge costs from £1530 per week in the summer peak, a spa lodge with hot tub from £1995/week, and a Vista Exclusive from £2440/week. A long weekend in November was available from as little as £310.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Sandybrook is perfect for entertaining kids either on family days out in the Peak District (see above for ideas) or in its varied on-site facilities.
Top of our list is the indoor heated swimming pool, which is superbly family friendly and has a separate toddler area.
There’s plenty of safe outdoor space to explore, including woodland walks with magnificent bluebells to spot, a bug hotel and wooden naughts and crosses. Kids will also enjoy the large recreation field, perfect for ball games, not to mention the play area with climbing frames, swings and slides.
Younger tots will enjoy letting off steam in Sandybrook’s dedicated toddler play room with ride on toys, slide, den, play mat, toy kitchen and so on. While for older children there’s a games room handily situated above the bar and restaurant featuring pool tables, air hockey and table football (small fees apply to all).
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Aside from the vast range of activities mentioned above which will guarantee worn-out children by the end of the day, parents have the option of booking additional on-site instructor-led family friendly activities for a small fee – for example archery, bodyzorbing, crossbow, fencing, mini-golf, orienteering and snorkelling.
Mums and dads will enjoy the spa pool and sauna which accompany the swimming pool, while there’s also a decking area for relaxing in the sunshine.
Sandybrook is pet friendly (certain lodges welcome dogs) and WiFi is available. For those travelling with babies or toddlers, cots and high chairs can be hired for a small additional fee.

What a lovely place Sandybrook is! The lodges are modern and well equipped, the on-site child friendly facilities are fantastic, and there’s oodles to do in the local area with the beautiful Peak District on your doorstep. Definitely one for the Parent Friendly Stays family wishlist!
