Beddgelert sits in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park – a world-famous destination for climbing mountains, exploring river valleys and discovering the region’s fantastic castles, villages and blue flag beaches like Black Rock Sands. Family friendly days out in the local area include the National Slate Museum, the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Harlech Castle, Glaslyn Wildlife Visitor Centre, Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park, Zip World Caverns and the Sygun Copper Mine.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are just sixteen cabins at Beddgelert, offering comfortable accommodation in beautiful forest surroundings. Choose from two or three bedroom Golden Oak or Silver Birch cabins, sleeping up to six. All the properties combine contemporary design with cosy home comforts and all the luxuries you’ll need while on holiday. This includes a private hot tub on the decking for every cabin, along with log burning stove in the spacious living area.
For an idea of prices, a week-long stay at Beddgelert for a family of four in a Golden Oak cabin costs from £2750 in the height of the summer; while an off-peak long weekend starts from just £555.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Forest Holidays are all about the great outdoors, and children will love their stay at Beddgelert. There’s an abundance of safe open space to run around, woodland trails to explore and wildlife to spot.
We love the fact that the Welsh Highland Railway runs through the forest and there’s a tiny station here at Beddgelert, allowing you to hop on a steam train with the kids for one of your family days out.
Enjoyable forest activities like Ultimate Forest Survival and Mini Forest Rangers led by the on-site ranger can be booked for your family, along with a range of other activities like abseiling, gorge walking and scrambling. Cycle hire can be found close by.
And of course, depending on your children’s age, what about taking on the challenge of surmounting the highest point in England and Wales – Snowdon – either on foot, or by the mountain railway?

There are also a number of welcoming pubs and restaurants in the nearby village of Beddgelert.
Some of the log cabins are dog friendly, meaning you can bring the family pet with you, and WiFi is available along with all the baby and toddler essentials (cots, highchairs) you might need.
