Address: Forest Holidays Cropton, Cropton, Nr Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 8ES
Cropton is well placed for families looking to enjoy Yorkshire’s great outdoors. A range of forest trails, moorland rambles and dramatic coastal paths are in easy reach, while gentle family friendly cycle trails can be found in Cropton Forest itself. Dalby Forest, Yorkshire Outdoors and Go Ape are all in easy reach, as are Jorvik Viking Centre and York Dungeons. The North Yorkshire coast is just a 45 minute drive away including Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay.
There are various cabins available at Cropton – Silver Birch and Golden Oak – including with one, two or three bedrooms. The modern and well-equipped cabins all come with open plan living areas, log burners and a private hot tub on the decking.
For an idea of prices, a family of four staying at Cropton in the summer peak can expect to spend from £1685/week for a two bedroom Silver Birch lodge. A long weekend stay out of season can be yours for as little as £790 – perfect for a short break with the kids to cure the winter blues.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Forest Holidays are all about enjoying the great outdoors: there’s a wealth of safe open space to enjoy, footpaths to explore and cycle routes to ride. There are also child-friendly forest activities available to book to give you a unique adventure for the children, including treasure hunts, night vision walks, Mini Forest Rangers, Forest Discovery and Ultimate Forest Survival. Other child friendly activities available nearby include zip wires, Go Ape, air rifle shooting, archery, Segway rides and geocaching.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
At the heart of Cropton Forest is the Forest Retreat, where parents will find a useful well-stocked shop, snack and coffee bar. This is also the place to meet the Forest Ranger, hire bikes, or book activities to occupy your family.
A range of parent friendly extras can be booked to help make mum and dad’s holiday even more special, including welcome hampers, cases of wine, pizza or curry night packs, in-cabin spa treatments, champagne breakfasts and more.
And what could be better than slipping into your hot tub at the end of a busy day sightseeing and relaxing under the stars with a glass of fizz?!
Parents will probably want to consider paying the small additional fee to benefit from the in-cabin entertainment option which provides high speed WiFi, unlimited movies and all your favourite sports channels.
There’s something very appealing about Forest Holidays, and the Compton site has it all – modern comfortable cabins with hot tubs and log burners, plenty to do in the local area, and North Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside and coastline to explore when you fancy a day out with the family.
