Corffe is situated just a short drive from the bustling market town of Barnstaple, and provides easy access to the north Devon coast with its popular beaches and tourist attractions. Family friendly days out in the local area include building sandcastles on Woolacombe beach, exploring the dunes at Braunton Burrows, hiring a bike on the Tarka Trail cycle route and wandering round the thriving market town of Barnstaple with its food market, cafes and restaurants. Attractions like the Big Sheep and the Milky Way are also within easy driving distance.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are nine self-catering cottages at Corffe, centred around a shared sunny courtyard. The properties were once the stables and outbuildings of a country house estate and now provide comfortable, well-equipped holiday accommodation perfect for families. Everything you’ll need for youngsters is available to borrow including stair gates, plastic plates and cutlery, and night lights.
Sleeping between 2 and 10 people, the range of cottages means that all family sizes and requirements can be met. There are several suitable for smaller families of three or four people; plus spacious properties which accommodate groups of 6, 7, 8 and 10.
Or for a larger gathering of friends and family, consider magnificent Corffe House: a nine bedroom property sleeping between 18 and 22 people – and with its very own cinema room and pool table, in addition to the wider shared facilities across the estate.
For an idea of prices, a family of four staying at Corffe during the summer holiday peak in a two bed cottage can expect to pay from £1370 per week. Prices are obviously much lower at less popular times, and short breaks can be booked throughout the year.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Always a PFS favourite, Corffe has a superb indoor heated swimming pool for the use of guests, providing a great place for children of ages to let off steam and unwind. Beside the main pool is a shallow paddling pool perfect for toddlers to splash and learn to get comfortable with the waves. And for adults who need to relax there’s a tempting hot tub too.
Outside, Corffe benefits from five acres of safe grounds to explore and run around, along with a football goal and a play area with climbing frame, swings, sensory equipment and a fantastic wooden fort.
There’s also a free-to-use all-weather tennis court, ideal for budding Andy Murrays or competitive siblings; rackets and balls can be borrowed too.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Corffe has a sociable outdoor set-up with cottages centred around a courtyard perfect for outdoor meals, drinks and barbeques. We also really like the look of Corffe’s all-weather barbeque cabin (available for use at a small additional charge): a cosy and luxurious indoor space where families can gather around the fire for a really special meal or even party.
For nights when mum and dad don’t fancy cooking, an experienced local chef can be arranged to deliver delicious home cooked meals on Mondays or Saturdays. Or, on Wednesday evenings during peak holiday periods, Corffe hosts a regular pizza night with freshly cooked pizzas available to buy from a mobile pizza oven right in the middle of the cottage courtyard.
There are helpful little extras for parents staying at Corffe including a mini library of books to borrow (based in a delightful traditional red telephone box!), while the cottages have a selection of toys, games, jigsaws and DVDs available to borrow.
Free WiFi is available throughout and pets are able to stay in two of the cottages (Corner Cottage and Corffe House).
You’ll also find a laundry area with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers – great for staying on top of the kids’ endless dirty clothes.
EV charging is available for the use of guests.
IN SUMMARY…
Corffe is a delightful holiday cottage complex with fantastic high quality amenities on-site for kids and useful extras for mum and dad – the pizza night is a big win for us. Definitely one to consider if you’re looking for a family friendly break near the ever-popular north Devon coast!
