Libbear Barton is nestled in the picturesque hills of north Devon. Within a half hour drive are a number of lovely beaches including popular surfing spot Widemouth Bay; or a little further still is Bude, Saunton Sands and Westward Ho! Equally accessible from Libbear Barton is the rugged beauty of Dartmoor – perfect for a walk or family picnic. Nearby family friendly attractions include The Big Sheep, the Milky Way and New Mills Farm.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are four self-catering cottages at Libbear Barton, each with their own unique character. Three tastefully converted barn properties – Otter’s Den, Mole End and Badger’s House – each sleep either 8 or 9 people in four bedrooms, and offer spacious and charming accommodation.
The largest property, impressive Georgian farmhouse Toad Hall, sleeps up to 16 in seven bedrooms; perfect for an extended family getaway with three comfortable reception rooms and a fabulous Aga kitchen. Each property has its own private garden with gas BBQ, garden furniture and private trampoline.
For an idea of prices, a summer holiday stay in Mole End cottage – with its beamed living room, log fire and split lounge design (ideal when it’s TV time for the kids!) – costs from £2220. Given the property sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, that’s likely a cost you’ll be splitting between two or more families, making this a very cost effective summer holiday option. A long weekend in November in Otter’s Den (again sleeping eight) costs just £540 for three nights.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Libbear Barton is a superbly child-friendly holiday destination, with a range of fantastic facilities on offer. First up is the indoor heated pool with pool toys and changing rooms; ideal for kids of all ages and a great way to spend an hour whatever the weather. There’s an indoor games room with table tennis, pool, air hockey, darts and more, while younger tots can safely let off steam in the soft play area set over two levels.
Outside there’s a recently upgraded playground with swings, slide and climbing tower, along with a wealth of safe open space for healthy outdoor fun. This includes five acres of beautiful woodland to explore, in addition to a scenic lake and the sights and sounds of the 40 acre working farm.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Those with younger children will find the owners of Libbear Barton have equipped all their properties so well you’ll be able to avoid bringing the usual baby and toddler kit with you – from high chairs and potties to travel cots, booster seats, night lights and changing mats. You’ll also find a useful library of family videos and DVDs to borrow. Active mums and dads will enjoy the well-equipped on-site gym, while others (and we admit to being in this category ourselves) might prefer to relax in the luxury sauna. You’ll also find a list of recommended babysitters if you fancy a trip to one of the area’s fantastic restaurants or pubs. Pets are welcome in certain properties outside of school holidays.
IN SUMMARY…
If we had to describe Libbear Barton in one word it would probably be this one: idyllic. Gorgeous accommodation, amazing child-friendly facilities including a fantastic pool, and acres of attractive countryside to explore right from your doorstep. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring Libbear Barton is a genuinely family friendly holiday destination.
