Village Farm and Town Foot Farm are situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Northumberland’s unspoilt coast and are located within easy reach of many of Northumberland’s most popular destinations including Alnmouth, Alnwick, Amble, Bamburgh, Berwick, Cragside, Craster, Dunstanburgh, Morpeth, Newcastle, Rothbury, Seahouses, Warkworth and Wooler. Family friendly attractions in the area include the castles at Alnwick, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth and Beamish Open Air Museum.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
The accommodation here is situated across two main sites: Village Farm in the heart of the old village of Shilbottle and Town Foot Farm on the northern edge of the same village. The two complexes are within a ten minute walk of each other.
Village Farm is host to the the twelve-bed Farmhouse cottage (ideal for larger groups or family reunions!) along with a smaller cottage and four bright and airy self-catering holiday chalets. The main leisure complex (see below) is also situated at the Village Farm site. Town Foot Farm is host to three more self-catering cottages along with the on-site riding stables, and a short walk away in the village of Shilbottle are three further cottages.
Prices appear very reasonable to us at Parent Friendly Stays, with a seven night stay in the summer peak period costing around £800 – one of the most affordable holidays we currently feature on the site. The same holiday out of season can be found for as little as £365, and of course you’ll still be able to make full use of all the on-site facilities even if the sun isn’t shining!
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
One of the main draws for children at Village Farm and Town Foot Farm is of course the indoor heated swimming pool, set in a converted stable block. There’s also a games room with table tennis, pool, table football, air hockey and a television. Outside you’ll find plenty of open space for playing in the form of a large mown lawn area (with football posts, cricket net and more), an all-weather tennis court and an adventure play area with wendy house. Being set across two farms there are obviously plenty of animals around to keep the children entertained and, at the Town Foot complex, horse riding can be organised for an additional fee. When you feel like a change of scenery, it’s only a couple of miles to drive to the nearby beach.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
In addition to the above facilities there are a few features at Village Farm and Town Foot Farm guaranteed to put a smile on mum and dad’s faces too. In particular adults will enjoy the stunning spa bath, steam room and sauna facility accompanied by its own relaxation area with heated loungers and leather furniture. There’s also a fully equipped and high quality gym facility, and you can make use of the hot tub in the swimming pool complex. For the evenings when you don’t fancy cooking, all the holiday accommodation is within walking distance of the village of Shilbottle which has a pub and an Indian restaurant. Baby and toddler equipment is provided in each cottage, and there’s also free WiFi in each property too. Dogs are allowed in some of the properties (check before you book). EV charging is available.
IN SUMMARY…
We’re impressed with the standard of the facilities at Village Farm and Town Foot Farm, particularly the spa and swimming pool complex. Children will doubtless be keen to make use of the horse riding facilities too. Add in the affordable prices on top, and at Parent Friendly Stays we’d certainly recommend a family holiday here.
