Coombe Mill is the ideal base to explore Cornwall, with the county’s beaches, harbour towns and favourite family attractions all within easy reach. Enjoy building sandcastles, splashing in rock pools and safe swimming beaches at Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Trebarwith or Rock; explore the local shops, boat trips or seal-spotting at Padstow, Port Isaac and Tintagel; or enjoy a memorable day out with the kids at Crealy, Springfields, Dairyland or Lappa Valley.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
Accommodation at Coombe Mill takes the form of six luxurious and well-equipped Scandinavian-style lodges. These attractive holiday properties offer comfortable, modern and spacious living spaces perfect for visiting families. Everything visiting parents might need has been considered: full size wooden cots, bed guards, blackout blinds, high chairs and stair gates.
Lodges come in a range of sizes, from smaller two bedroom properties sleeping 4 – Polzeath, Trevarno and Trabeh – to eight bed Eden, Heligan and Pencarrow.
For an idea of prices, at the time of writing, a week long stay for a family of two adults and two children during the summer school holiday peak costs around £1550 in a two bedroom lodge like Polzeath; or for £1950, bring the extended family along to one of the eight person lodges. Prices out of season are obviously lower; grab a bargain by visiting off-peak and enjoy a seven night stay at Coombe Mill for as little as £550. Short breaks are also possible.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Coombe Mill is the perfect place for a hands-on farm animal experience. Five mornings a week, guests are invited to join an exciting morning tractor ride around the farm feeding the resident animals – from chickens, pigs, ducks and guinea pigs to sheep, alpacas, goats, deer and ponies. And at the end, take home the fresh eggs you’ve collected yourself and enjoy them for breakfast!
Coombe Mill also boasts plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to keep little ones happy. There’s 23 acres of safe, open space for children to explore and run around. There’s also a well-equipped outdoor play area with climbing fortress, slide, swings, sandpit, zip line and trampoline – plus wild adventure zones perfect for imaginative play in the fresh air including mud kitchen, den building zone, fairy garden and wildlife trail.
There’s even a badminton area with equipment ready to borrow. Oh, and did we mention the site’s very own seven-hole crazy golf course?!
For wetter days, you’ll find an indoor games room great for older kids with pool table, table tennis and air hockey; or younger tots will love the under 5s soft play barn. Something for everyone! And don’t forget, four of the lodges at Coombe Mill also have their own built-in playrooms, while the rest come with a useful toy box.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Coombe Mill is home to a fishing lake and benefits from the River Camel running through its grounds, making this holiday the perfect place for fishermen – new or old. Private fishing is available for no extra charge and equipment is free to hire.
Outdoor dinners on summers evenings are a doddle with Coombe Mill’s purpose-built BBQ area with indoor BBQ hut; or why not try your hand at homemade pizzas using the outdoor pizza oven? There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants just minutes from Coombe Mill; and babysitting can be arranged if you fancy a grown-ups only evening.
Mums and dads seeking an exercise hit will enjoy Coombe Mill’s child-free gym area with top of the range equipment.
Free wifi is provided for guests, and there’s an electric charging port available for use for a small extra charge. Dogs are also permitted to stay for a small fee.
