The cottage is situated on the border of the Peak District National Park and the Holme Valley. Holmfirth is the famous home of long-running TV show ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and nowadays offers great shops, cafes and pubs. The wider area offers many outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, caving and hang gliding.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
This holiday offers modern, comfortable accommodation in picturesque countryside surroundings.
The open plan downstairs incorporates a large living area with corner sofa, patio doors leading to the garden, and a log burner; a well-equipped kitchen; and dining area. There are two bedrooms – one double with en-suite bathroom, and one twin (plus an additional pull-out bed can be arranged with the owner for a small additional fee).
For an idea of prices, a week-long stay in the cottage during the summer holiday peak can be yours for around £1200. We think that’s pretty good value!
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The jewel in the crown of this lovely holiday cottage is undoubtedly the indoor heated swimming pool. This is available for the exclusive use of the holiday cottage residents – so no dodging other swimmers – and provides a great option for entertaining children of all ages, whatever the weather is doing outside.
Outside, the garden is an ideal enclosed (and therefore safe) space for little tots to explore and run around. Several local parks can be accessed within a short drive of the cottage.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
For parents who don’t fancy cooking or perhaps fancy a drink in the beer garden, there’s a local pub within five minutes’ walk of the cottage, and several more within 15 minutes. You’ll also enjoy the sauna in the swimming pool complex.
The property offers a woodburner in the living room, which ensures a cosy evening if you’re visiting in the autumn or winter. And in the summer months, the patio is a lovely spot to enjoy dinner and watch the sun go down.
A travel cot and high chair are available for those visiting with younger tots, saving valuable space in the car. WiFi is also provided, but pets are not permitted.
IN SUMMARY…
This child friendly Peak District cottage is well presented, well equipped, and benefits from an incredible private swimming pool – not something we see often here on Parent Friendly Stays. And the price is very competitive too, even during peak times. We reckon this one’s a winner!
