Our review of the Alton Towers Resort

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are several exciting options available for families looking for an overnight stay at the Alton Towers Resort.
For hotel lovers there are no less than three options. The Alton Towers Hotel is the original hotel at the main resort, with around 175 rooms each sleeping up to around four guests (though there are themed suites sleeping up to six people). Facilities include themed restaurant and bar, arcades and shops within the hotel, free parking and evening entertainment and activities for families.
Or, consider one of the two other hotel options. Splash Landings is an exciting Caribbean-themed hotel which directly overlooks the on-site waterpark – you can sit in the bar and watch the fun on the slides or in the waves below unfold! Room sizes are similarly suitable for 4-6 people, and there’s a bar, restaurant and entertainment. Meanwhile, CBeebies Land Hotel is a smaller hotel themed around the BBC CBeebies TV channel, and perfect for younger children with indoor play areas and interactive children’s entertainment.
But that’s not all..! Guests can also choose to stay in Alton Towers’ Enchanted Village, which offers either Woodland Lodges – log-style cabins sleeping up to five people – or Luxury Treehouses – premium self-contained lodges sleeping up to eight. Breakfast and dinner options are available for all guests at the on-site Crooked Spoon restaurant.
Lastly, there’s also the option of glamping-style Stargazing Pods to consider – four person pods near the Enchanted Village. With communal facilities including shared picnic areas, shower and toilet blocks, this is a more back-to-nature opportunity to stay in the resort while making the most of the wider facilities available.
For an idea of prices, a short break at the Alton Towers Resort can at the time of writing be yours from just £42 per person per night. Special offers and packages are often available.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The child friendly nature of a stay at Alton Towers barely needs stating! For rollercoaster-loving thrillseekers or younger children who love the family friendly rides at the park, what could be more exciting than staying in a family friendly hotel or lodge right in the heart of the resort itself? Wake up in the morning and it’s just a short walk to the park entrance and a day of fun and laughter ahead!
Of course, staying at the resort brings a whole additional layer of child friendly fun including evening entertainment, friendly characters to meet, arcades and shops to explore, and so on. And all the accommodation is super child friendly and themed to make it an exciting and memorable stay.

PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
A stay at the Alton Towers Resort is brilliant for parents as it makes the whole trip to the theme park such a straightforward experience – free parking, lots of food options for the family, on-site entertainment for keeping the little ones entertained before bedtime, and character meet-and-greets. If you’re staying at Splash Landings then visiting the water park is an absolute doddle – just take the lift straight from your hotel room and you’ll soon be exploring its immense slides, waves and splash pads!
IN SUMMARY…
With a wide variety of child friendly accommodation types, several food options at the on-site restaurants and convenient access to Alton Towers theme park and water park, it’s hard to imagine a theme-park loving family who wouldn’t love a stay at one of the exciting options available at the Alton Towers Resort!
