But what makes a cottage child friendly? In our view there are a number of features which will guarantee you a perfect child friendly cottage for your holiday. The cottage needs to be safe for your children – so no steep steps or unprotected sharp edges! – and there needs to be lots of safe outdoor space for letting off steam too. On top of that, a child friendly cottage needs to offer lots to keep your children entertained regardless of the weather outside. So we always like to find child friendly cottages with plenty of family friendly facilities like indoor or outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, games rooms and play areas. We also like child friendly cottages where there are animals on site for the children to pet and help look after, or other entertainment like kids clubs or activities. And of course, having a beach nearby also helps make a child friendly cottage, especially in the summer months!
