Robin Hill Farm Cottages

For nearly 30 years Robin Hill Farm Cottages has been the popular choice for families and dog lovers holidaying in North Devon.

Set at the end of a ½ mile-long private drive and surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland, Robin Hill Farm is the perfect rural setting and boasts an array of facilities that make for a fun-packed holiday for all the family. Whether swimming in the indoor pool, having a game of table tennis or enjoying our 14 acres of pasture and woodland, there is never a dull moment.  For those wanting a day out, we are only 12 minutes from the beach and within easy driving distance of a huge array of indoor and outdoor family-friendly activities.

Plenty to do

Take a dip

Our indoor pool is heated to a lovely warm 28 degrees and being 1.2m deep throughout it is deep enough for serious swimming but not too deep that most older kids can't stand in it. Guests can book the pool for daily exclusive hour-long sessions. The pool complex has two changing rooms a toilet and a shower.

Family friendly games room

Along with the pool, the sizable games room is a firm favourite amongst our guests. Well equipped with, amongst other things, a Nintendo Wii, pool-table and table tennis there are also plenty of activities for babies and toddlers.

Swim, surf or sunbathe

Westward Ho! beach is the hidden gem of North Devon and is only a 12-minute drive from Robin Hill. The beach is huge so is never too busy, even in peak summer and there is plenty of easy parking. Very close to the town, you are never far from food, drink and toilets.

Free cooking classes

As well as our fantastic climbing frame, kids can safely run around all day in the garden and play badminton, swing ball or football. Each summer holidays, our free, fun cooking lessons are an added bonus,

Summer holidays Slippy-Slide

Each summer holidays our guests have great fun on our 20m slippy-slide in the field. Being North Devon, the field has a great slope to it and the sun always shines!

Relax in the conservatory

Our modern conservatory is just outside the swimming pool and the comfy sofas are a great place to sit a relax over a drink, especially during a summer evening. Fully heated the conservatory can be used year-round.

Walk in the woods

Our private three-acre woods are a great place to take your dog for a walk or just take a stroll to enjoy the scenery. Look out for the deer, pheasants and other wildlife who live in the woods.

Dog-proof field

Our four acre field is a great place to exercise your dog, The field is fully fenced, with 5ft high dog-proof fencing, so dogs can be let off the lead and run around to their heart's content.

Your own private garden

Each cottage has its own private garden, complete with a patio area so all guests can have some privacy if required. BBQs are a great feature of the summer months and each of the dog-friendly cottages are fully fenced-in.

The Cottages

Each of the four-star cottages at our 200 year old farm are converted from original  North Devon stone barns and cow sheds. With a choice of single-storey two bedrooms cottages up to three-bedroom cottages over two floors, Robin Hill Farm offers plenty of choice.

Three of the cottages are dog friendly and each of the cottages is baby and toddler friendly and have fully enclosed private gardens. With  Friday and Saturday change-overs for week-long stays and the option of three or four-night stays outside of school holidays, we offer plenty of flexibility when planning your stay.

Gull

Converted from the original milk barn and stables, Gull has a sizeable garden area and patio and arguably the best easterly view of all the cottages. Situated next door to Puffin and with adjoining gardens, Gull is often booked in conjunction with Puffin for larger groups. Accessed by a flight of  eight original  stone steps, so perhaps  not be ideal for  those with mobility issues

Puffin

Converted from a former tractor shed in the corner of the courtyard,  the internal layout is certainly the quirkiest of all our cottages. The private fully enclosed rear garden, with views on a clear day as far as Exmoor,  is accessed through a door from the first floor living room, but be warned, it is on a slope. Next door to Gull and with an adjacent garden so ideal to book in conjunction with Gull.

Heron

Tucked away in the corner of the courtyard, Heron offers a certain degree of privacy. The South facing private garden opens straight onto the communal areas  - swimming pool, games room, climbing frame etc, so mum and dad can keep an eye on their children as they relax over a glass of wine on the patio.

Kingfisher

Situated in the middle of the courtyard, in what was the original hay barn,  Kingfisher is a single-story cottage. The south-facing private garden is a definite suntrap and offers direct access on to the outdoor communal areas, swimming pool, climbing frame and games room. Being relatively compact in size, Kingfisher is priced at the same level as Swallow but less than the roomier Wren.

Swallow

Converted  from a former hayloft, Swallow is a single storey first floor cottage, accessed by a flight of 16 steps so perhaps not ideal for everyone. A gate can close off access to steps from the cottage, so little ones can be kept safe.  Being on the first floor, the private garden is not accessed directly from the cottage but is set across the courtyard.

Wren

Situated at the bottom of the courtyard, this former cattle shed has a sizeable east and south-facing L-shaped garden so gets plenty of Devon sunshine for a good part of the day. Though only two bedrooms, Wren is a sizeable ‘ sleeps four’ cottage so does command a slightly higher weekly rate than Swallow and Kingfisher.
