Polean Farm is less than two miles from the Cornish coast and therefore offers a perfect location for summer holiday beachtime fun; or equally for a bracing wind-swept autumn seaside stroll. A wealth of child and family friendly days out are easily accessible in the local area including picturesque Polperro and Fowey; the sandy beaches of Looe and Whitsand Bay; the Looe Valley railway line; Camel Creek Adventure Park; The Eden Project; the Lost Gardens of Heligan; Porfell Wildlife Park and the National Aquarium at Plymouth.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
The family friendly cottages at Polean Farm have been sympathetically converted from original farm buildings and now offer comfortable, cosy self-catering accommodation. There are seven properties in all, sleeping between 2 and 12 people. Several of the cottages have log burners for those cosy winter evenings inside, and four are dog friendly. For an idea of prices, a week-long August stay in four bed Twinkles cottage costs around £1460, while 12 person Farmhouse will cost approx. £3000. Short breaks during off-peak periods are available from as little as around £300.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
There’s plenty of wholesome family fun to entertain children of all ages at Polean Farm. First up is the animal feeding each day – guinea pigs, seasonal lambs, pigmy goats and chickens – plus collecting the eggs and taking one home for breakfast. Toddlers can ride on Noah the Pony while older children can ride on Mr Darcie. That’s all followed by an exciting ride round the farm in the tractor-pulled barrel train.
The farm has a range of other enjoyable activities waiting to be discovered. You’ll find an outdoor playground with climbing frame, trampoline, swings and slides, with handy seating area for watching parents. There’s a smaller set of outdoor equipment for younger tots, plus a safe courtyard area for ride-on tractors, and for wetter days indoor infant activities including little tikes toys and a wooden train set. Older kids will appreciate the pool table and table football, plus a large field at the front of the farm perfect for football or flying kites.
If this wasn’t all enough, guests at Polean Farm have free use of an indoor heated pool just two miles away (except during the month of August). Perfect for families and children of all ages.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Parents of younger children will be pleased to find the cottages at Polean Farm are well equipped for your stay including stair gates, cots and high chairs; saving space in the car for more important items! Grown-ups will appreciate the range of on-site activities to help entertain their little ones come rain or shine, and for those moments when you need a spot of well-deserved ‘me’ time, a babysitting service is available so you can make use of Cornwall’s many fantastic pubs and restaurants. If you’re looking for somewhere to go out with the family, the same complex containing the swimming pool a couple of miles away also offers nightly entertainment during peak periods for both kids and adults.
IN SUMMARY…
What a lovely place this is! The facilities at Polean Farm look fantastic, and we know the Parent Friendly Stays children would particularly enjoy the animal feeding and barrel rides. Prices are also very reasonable for a cottage complex with facilities like these, and the availability of properties sleeping up to twelve people provides the flexibility to accommodate groups of all sizes.
