Knowle Farm is located in the attractive countryside on the outskirts of Rattery, around ten minutes from the historic market town of Totnes. Family friendly attractions in the local area include Pennywell Farm, the National Marine Aquarium, Dartmoor National Park, and River Dart Country Park, along with two steam railways and numerous beautiful beaches and areas of countryside to explore.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are six cottages at Knowle Farm, all converted from barns and therefore full of character and original features. The accommodation ranges in size from the smallest cottage Clematis, which sleeps two plus a cot, through to the largest, Woodbine, which sleeps eight. Two of the four-bed cottages, Foxglove and Cow-mumble, can also combine to form another eight-bed property if needed. Prices for a cottage in the height of the summer sleeping a family of four start at around £1500/week, but you can grab a long weekend off-peak in a similar property for £390. A week in Woodbine at the end of July will cost £2360 at the time of writing, but you’ll likely be splitting this cost between 2/3 families. Either way, we think the prices at Knowle Farm are pretty competitive given the quality and range of facilities on offer.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Like all good parent friendly holiday destinations, there’s so much to do at Knowle Farm you might find you don’t need to spend much time exploring the rest of Devon! Top of the list is a modern indoor heated pool, helpfully equipped with gentle steps at the shallow end, and with an attractive outdoor decking area for sunbathing inbetween dips. A separate indoor play barn features a soft play area for under 5s, plus pool table and table tennis for older children (and adults) to enjoy. Outside you’ll find a fantastic outdoor area with toddler ‘race track’ for safely enjoying ride on toys, a wooden play unit with swings, towers and so on, and an enclosed rabbit/guinea pig enclosure. There’s also a newly resurfaced tennis court, with rackets and balls available to borrow, not to mention over a half a mile of natural woodland and riverside walks to explore (including a children’s I-spy hunt).
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
You’ll be able to save space in the car when you visit Knowle Farm as baby and toddler equipment (high chairs, bed guards, cots) are available free of charge, along with baby baths, changing mats and sterilizers. For nights when you don’t fancy cooking or heading out to the local pub – though there’s a delightful inn within a 15 minute walk, which pleases us – you can buy locally made pies, ready meals and other foodstuffs directly from the owners at Knowle Farm. BBQs are available to borrow in the warmer months and there’s free WiFi throughout. Babysitting can be arranged to allow mum and dad a relaxing evening out, and the owners have also arranged a number of handy discounts at local attractions. EV charging is available.
IN SUMMARY…
We’re really impressed with the look of Knowle Farm. It’s obvious the owners take a great deal of pride in the holidays they offer, both in terms of the variety of activities on offer for kids (the toddler race track and rabbit area looks perfect for little ones) but also in the quality and well-maintained properties, facilities and grounds. Knowle Farm has a range of family friendly attractions on its doorstep but we can easily imagine spending a fantastic week’s holiday on the farm without ever needing to venture further afield. Here at Parent Friendly Stays, we’re definitely adding Knowle Farm to our ‘must visit’ list.
