ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES

There are eight self catering cottages at Tredethick, each sleeping between 4 and 6 people. The cottages are light and airy yet cosy in appearance, and well equipped with all modern conveniences to suit the needs of visiting families. Many of the cottages have log fires to snuggle around during the winter months, with tasteful private gardens to enjoy during sunnier times of the year. For an idea of prices, a week in four bed ‘Wagonhouse’ during August will set you back £2180, though out of season you could have a seven night stay for as little as £780.

CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

Tredethick has a fantastic child friendly indoor pool, complete with toys and floats, perfect for keeping little ones of all ages entertained.  Families book daily slots to have the pool to themselves, providing a calm quiet environment for baby’s first swim.  There’s the option to have a lesson with an experienced swim coach too.

There’s a well-sized soft play centre – with sofas and bean-to-cup coffee for grown-ups – and an indoor play barn with a huge sand pit, table tennis and table football. Outside you’ll find a large farm-themed balance bike, scooter and mini-tractor track, a play park and trampoline.

The highlight for most children is morning animal feeding twice a week – pigs, goats, alpacas, chickens and lambs in the spring – and the chance to ride on gentle ponies, again two rides during your week’s stay.

Tredethick is set in 80 acres of private meadows, streams and woodland, so you can grab a story map and take a wander along the picturesque farm trail with swings, log bridges, climbing frames, a maze and rope balance.  If the children have any energy left, you can continue to the nearby hamlet of St Winnow where (April to October) you can buy homemade Cornish cream teas, as well as ice cream.

PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

Parents will enjoy the child friendly nature of the cottages at Tredethick; six of the eight properties don’t have any stairs at all, and those that do have stairgates provided. The cottages come with all the baby friendly equipment you might need including wooden cots, black-out blinds, highchairs and children’s cutlery. All the cottages have WiFi and smart televisions. No dogs are allowed.

Here at Parent Friendly Stays it’s clear to us that mums and dads have been kept in mind across Tredethick’s offerings, including the little touches: there’s complimentary coffee and hot chocolate to enjoy in the soft play area; you can buy homemade, toddler-friendly meals in the farm shop; and you can borrow baby carrier backpacks to help you make the most of the on-site farm trail. There’s a collection of bedtime story books and DVDs to borrow from the honesty-box farm shop, which also offers frozen meals, fresh produce, drinks and ice creams.

If you fancy some ‘me’ time without the children, there are a number of great restaurants within a ten minute drive of Tredethick and the owners can put you in touch with a recommended babysitter. But our favourite parent friendly holiday feature at Tredethick Farm Cottages has to be the complex’s unique hot tub garden – a very special and relaxing space featuring a luxury hot tub, sun loungers and an incredible glass pod for reading or taking a nap.

EV charging is available for the use of guests.

There’s no denying it: we think Tredethick Farm Cottages are a real jewel in Cornwall’s crown. Oodles of quality entertainment for the children to enjoy, with no shortage of little touches to ensure mums and dads have a genuinely relaxing holiday too. We can’t wait to visit.

WHAT THE OWNERS SAY

“We’ve been welcoming families (many again and again) to our farm for more than 20 years. We love seeing young children and toddlers make new friends and new discoveries – whether it’s finding a freshly-laid egg or riding a velvet-nosed pony.

Seeing adults unwind and recharge is always rewarding too. That’s because we pride ourselves on providing holidays that are as fun for little ones as they are relaxing for grown-ups. Holidays in short that memories are made of.”
