Gladwins Farm is located near Nayland in Suffolk, a few miles north of the historic town of Colchester. Nayland itself has a pub and a range of shops, while Colchester – a mere ten minute drive away – has a number of family friendly attractions including a zoo and castle. Also in the area of Gladwins Farm are a number of attractive heritage villages, and the area is also famous for its wide range of restaurants and pubs offering quality Suffolk fayre.

Accommodation and prices
There are nine unique self catering cottages at Gladwins Farm in a range of sizes, with the largest – Chelsworth – sleeping up to eight people in four bedrooms. The cottages are furnished and equipped to a high standard, and have a cosy and inviting appearance. A seven night stay for two adults and two children in one of Gladwins Farm’s two bedroom cottages like Dedham or Hadleigh during the middle of August will cost between £995 and £1175 at the time of writing; that’s a pretty competitive price for a peak season stay at a complex as well equipped as this one.

Gladwins Farm has a fantastic indoor swimming pool heated to a welcoming 30 degrees, a perfect environment for older children to let off steam or younger toddlers to learn confidence on the water in a quiet, safe environment. There’s a new play barn designed for kids of all ages with table tennis, a TV with games console and a soft play area. Outside you’ll find a playground with swings, trampoline and wendy house, a football goal and a full size tennis court (and you can borrow equipment too). Visitors are able to get involved with Gladwins Farm’s resident animals by feeding the goats, befriending the horses and sheep and collecting the eggs from the chickens; and there’s also a delightful woodland trail offering the perfect opportunity to spot the local wildlife. There are also numerous walks and cycle routes in the immediate vicinity of the cottages, in the unlikely event the 22 acre site fails to offer your children enough space to explore! It’s also only a 30 minute drive from the beaches at Frinton and Mersea Island.

There’s a wide range of baby equipment (cots, high chairs, baby baths, sterilisers, baby monitors and so on) available to borrow at Gladwins Farm – just mention your requirements when you book. Also saving you space in the car, there are a variety of toys and outdoor play equipment available to borrow when you arrive, along with a huge DVD and video selection. Helping save the pain at dinner time, Gladwins Farm has a freezer stocked with homemade ready meals and local ice creams and sorbets; you can also order tempting breakfast or snack hampers stcoekd with local produce, or for a real treat how about freshly baked croissants delivered to your cottage door on Saturday or Sunday mornings? For a relaxing way to unwind at the end of the day, parents will enjoy Gladwins Farm’s sauna and outdoor hot tub – several of the cottages have their own private hot tub too! – and you might wish to arrange one of the wide variety of beauty treatments, massages and pedicures available. It’s possible to arrange a babysitting service if you fancy enjoy one of the many fantastic Suffolk pubs and restaurants nearby. Visitors can enjoy casting a line in Gladwins Farm’s very own fishing lake stocked with carp and rud. Dogs are welcome in most of the cottages at Gladwins Farm and there’s plenty of places to walk the dogs across the site. There’s free WiFi in all the cottages.

At Gladwins Farm there is an outdoor playground with swings for all ages, a rocking rooster, a wendy house complete with kitchen and a football goal to practice your skills! In addition to this, there is a full size, all-weather tennis court and a selection of tennis racquets and balls to borrow. Children and adults alike can also play croquet on the lawn or simply enjoy the view from a picnic table. There’s a woodland walk, which takes you round the woods where the children can spot the resident wildlife. Or you can link to the surrounding footpaths and cycle routes and explore the beauty of the Suffolk countryside further.”
