Our review of Croft Farm and Celtic Cottages

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES

Croft Farm is an attractive complex of family-friendly self-catering holiday cottages near Cardigan in Pembrokeshire, Wales. There are a total of ten properties to choose between, the largest of which – Croft House – can sleep up to twelve adults plus two cots. As a nice welcoming touch, each cottage is equipped on your arrival with a welcome tray featuring local mead, Welsh cakes, a jug of milk and fair trade teas and coffees – perfect for a tasty snack when you first arrive and a good excuse to put off the unpacking! A week long stay in Croft House in July costs around £2990, but remember that’s a price which you’ll likely be splitting between 2-3 families. A week in one of the cottages sleeping a family of four at the same time of year will cost £1450, but that drops to as little as £595 out of season.

CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

The Croft Farm complex is overflowing with family-friendly facilities which are guaranteed to keep your children entertained come rain or shine. There’s an indoor heated swimming pool, and additionally a large indoor play area (the ‘Big Play Barn’) with air hockey, table tennis, built-in Wendy house, play shop and garage, toddler ride-on vehicles, sand pit and table football. For younger children there’s also a soft play area. On sunny days there’s plenty to play with outside including an adventure playground with toddler slide and swing seats, wooden adventure park climbing frames, full size football goals and farm walks. And of course, being set in six acres of countryside, there’s no shortage of safe outdoor space for the kids to let off some steam. For animal lovers the complex has a variety of on-site animals including goats, bunnies and guinea pigs for your children to visit and help feed.

PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

The complex is also designed to make holidays easier for parents, too. The well-equipped cottages have free WiFi and wired internet access, and baby/toddler equipment like stair gates, high chairs and travel cots are available on request. Family pets are welcome in some of the cottages (but remember to check before you book). The swimming pool complex also features a gym and sauna allowing parents the opportunity to unwind after a long day. Unfortunately there isn’t a pub within walking distance, as far as we can tell, though the complex does have a lovely shared BBQ area for a bit of evening socialising with other families. For the ultimate in luxury there’s also the option of daily fresh bread and freshly cooked meal deliveries, which at Parent Friendly Stays we must admit we love the sound of!

IN SUMMARY…

If you’re looking for a family friendly stay in Pembrokeshire, you probably can’t go far wrong with the parent friendly cottages and facilities at Croft Farm.
